Hi All,
I installed SAP Visual Intelligence on windows 8 x64 Bit, and I am facing the problem in starting it up, when I double click on the Icon of SAPVISI, the welcome screen opens up and then it gets stuck after few minutes the --- program is not responding.
Can anyone suggest the solution on the same. I have done the compatibility check and in that case while running as windows 7 the screen of SAPVISI flashes and goes..!!!

I'm pulling information back from my UNX Universe (4.0 SP5) that is accessing data that is resident in a SQL Server 2008 database. I have several Dimensions that I am pulling back that are similar in name, and within the Universe those dimensions are using CASE statements to determine what the value should be within the field.
When I bring them back in Preview mode in Visual Intelligence, instead of showing me one field as Clinic Entity Name and one as Clinic Facility Name, I get Clinic Facility Name and Clinic Facility Name (2). Additionally, when I try to use the filter for the Clinic Entity Name, it brings up the date for the Clinic Facility Name field (but it is displaying the correct data before I try to use the filter.
Here is conceptually what the data should look like that I am trying to pull back:

When I click on what should be the Clinic Entity Name (column 1) in Preview mode, it brings up the values for Clinic Facility Name:

Any ideas on what might be happening? Same thing happens if I skip Preview mode and bring the data directly back into Visual Intelligence....
After installation, I was going to work on SAP VI but facing an error:
" An error occurred : Could not initialize class
com.sap.hilo.engine.sybase.SybaseDBHelper"
Where can I download the Visual Intelligence desktop software?

Can VisI be used to create a dashboard. If yes, hw could we do so? i am unable to add two charts at the same time in a visualization pane. Also pls suggest some docs on the same.

Hi,
I have a BO universe created on an SAP BW InfoCube. I'm trying to select that universe a source for Visual Intelligence by connecting via 'Universe 4.x'. Once connected, I'm not able to see this BO universe created on the BW InfoCube. I'm able to however see other example universes like efashion, Monitoring TrendData Universe etc.
I've tried various User and Universe security options without any luck.
Could anyone suggest how to import universes created on BW objects into Visual Intelligence?

Hi ALL.
I am trying to create SAP Visual Intelligence (VISI) applications, using SAP HANA as my datasource.
I have already created some Attribute, Analytic & Calculation views within SAP HANA & works fine.
The issue I have is that when I connect to HANA using HANA Online method, I connect successfully, BUT I cannot view or see ANY of my information models that I have created in HANA.
Currently I am using the SYSTEM user to connect & create the VISI application... However I also created a user in HANA and gave it the same roles/priviledges as the SYSTEM user, but I get connection errors (see attached screen-shots).
Has anybody experienced this?

The problem is i am not able to acquire certain views. When i acquire certain views, i am facing the below error.
Can anyone suggest why this error occurs and suggest some workaround for it.

Hi All
After finally getting VI installed and running I now cannot open any input files, including the samples provided. I get a dialog box with:
An Error Occurred:
no dbjodbc12 in java.library.path
On any subsequent attempts I get another dialog box with:
An error occurred:
Could not initialize class
com.sap.hilo.engine.sybase.SybaseDBHelper
Does anyone know what this might mean and how it could be resolved?
(32 bit version, Win 7 4gb RAM)

1.0.5 was installed and working flawlessly. 1.0.6 throws an error when trying to acquire from CSV, Free Hand SQL, or Universe;
An Error Occured:
Data Source creation failed / The engine failed to start before timeout. Restart the application. (HDB 10005)
No hits when searching the usual suspects. Anybody encountered this before?

Getting a weird error when trying to return a full dataset to Visual Intelligence from a Webi Universe. Oddly enough I can run the same query using Web Intelligence from a browser on this machine and return the full dataset without issue (it is in a single table in a SQL Server 2008 database).
Here is the error that I am getting in the logs. Any ideas?

We are trying to install 32 bit version of visual intelligence on our Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1 machines, but it disappears every time, after the installer extracts the setup files.
We are able to install VI on our 64 bit server,but when trying on Windows client machines we are not able to do so. Steps tried to troubleshoot:
- Verified on 10 different machines same issue
- Running the setup with local admin access same issue
- Running the installer as an administrator same issue
- Re-installing the different version 07 and 08 of VI same issue
- Re- downloaded the software thrice , same issue.
- C: has more then 5 GB
- Changed the temp location to another drive same issue
- Turned off firewall same issue
- Checked the logs files from setupengine.log , we found following lines
- Ran process monitor, but it does not capture anything relevant

Hello Everybody,
I am currently figuring out how to use BO Visual Intelligence and I am looking at the connections available to the toolset, we are (unfortunately) not using HANA for this and the options that are available are the following in Visi
• CSV file
• SAP HANA
• SAP BW data exposed as views in SAP HANA
• MS Excel
• Freehand SQL
• SAP BusinessObjects Universe
Obviously we want to leverage the BW framework so I have data in a multiprovider with a BEx query over the top and I have built a universe on the BEx query. However Visi does not allow this according to the manual
‘Acquiring data from the following types of universes is not supported:
• BI 4.0 Unx file connected to an OLAP data source
• Universes connected to the SAP BW data source’
Does anyone know a way around this to allow me to get to the BW data? I am amazed that the SAP tool. Any advice in general is gratefully appreciated.
